I read a wonderful story recently about the Penfold sisters, farmers from Queensland’s Western Downs who were about to export grain fed Black Angus beef to Wuhan in China of all places when Covid hit and a trade war with China escalated.

Faced with a crisis, they adapted their business to deliver premium beef boxes direct to the domestic market. Coupling determination with a focus on the customers’ requirements the business has thrived.

The last 18 months has been an unprecedented time. Events have forced us to re-consider our business operations and viability, we have also taken pause in our personal lives to re-consider, our goals, aspirations and priorities, what’s really important to us.

In business and life, just like the Penfold sisters on Queensland’s Western Downs, if we take a positive approach, focus on the customer’s experience and deliver the product that the market desires, we will find that the world is full of opportunity.

I wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and encourage you during the festive season break to pause, reflect and possibly re-set for the year ahead. Above all approach 2022 with confidence and a positive attitude. All the best for the year ahead!

All the best for the year ahead!
